Dalian International Walking Festival is organized by the Municipal People’s Government of Dalian and Dalian City Hiking Association. The festival’s slogan is for “Peace, Health and Communication” and each year attracts more and more participants. Dalian International Walking Festival was began in 2003 and keep being held annually afterward every third weekend of May each year.
Dalian is one of the earliest city that start the healthy movement by establishing a Dalian City Walking and Hiking Association. The Hiking activity itself usually contained of more than one million people every year. Here, in Dalian, hiking has become the most fashionable and the most popular choice of healthy movement.
