Most Chinese mobile provider will not send you message every month as reminder of how much balance left in your number and it’s really annoying to suddenly realize if your number is inactive because there is no balance left.

1. China Unicom
China Unicom Official Operator number is 10010. You can call them to know the information however, it will be easier to send text message. So in order to get any information about your number, you need to send certain code to 10010:
- Type “YE” : to check available balance
You need to see the number after the words 余额 (Yú’é : balance), in this case ‘17.22’, that’s the amount of balance that left in your number.
- OTADYHF – your monthly fees (data packages etc.)
In this message, 20元 was for the amount of balance that being cut every month automatically for 3G data plan, 0.60元 is the amount of balance that being cut per minute for phone call and 0.10元 is the amount of balance that being cut for per bit internet (if the user use more than the 3G data plan per month).
If you’re having 3G data plan, usually China Mobile will send you automatic message every month to remind you how much 3G data plan that you already consume before they charge more.
2. China Mobile
China Mobile Official Operator number is 10086. You can call them to know the information however, it will be easier to send text message. So in order to get any information about your number, you need to send certain code to 10086:
- Type “101” : to check available balance
The first number that you will see is the amount of balance that you already spend and the second number is the remaining balance on your number.
For China Mobile, it also possible to send ‘YE’ to 10086 as the code to check the available balance.
3. China Telecom
China Telecom Official Operator number is 10001. You can call them to know the information however, it will be easier to send text message. So in order to get any information about your number, you need to send certain code to 10001:
- Type “101” : to check available balance
The first number that you will see is the amount of balance that you already spend and the second number is the remaining balance on your number.
However, for China Telecom, you can send ‘1’ to 10001 to get the list of code and their functions in Chinese in case you want to check other information about your number.
