Dalian Friendship Hospital is a large-scale comprehensive tertiary hospital with medical, scientific research, teaching and health care. It is the only Red Cross hospital in the city and one of the important cadre health bases in Dalian. The hospital's new out-patient and emergency building is an important livelihood project in Dalian, with a construction area of 43,939 square meters. It was put into full use in August 2018. The new building includes an out-patient department, an emergency department, an orthopedic ward, a cardiac ward, and aneurosurgical ward, Otorhinolaryngology Headand Neck Surgery Ward, General Surgery Ward, and Ophthalmology, Stomatology andother clinical departments, equipped with digital operating room, catheterroom, radiology department, ultrasound diagnosis department, digestive endoscopycenter, intensive care unit, clinical laboratory, pathology departments, etc. Itis equipped with high-end medical equipment such as Siemens 3.0T MRI, Philips128-layer 64-row CT, and Toshiba INFX-900cDSA.When the patient is admitted tothe hospital, all the examinations and treatment items can be completed in the building.

The International Healthcare Department is located on the 8th floor of the fully enclosed New Out-patient and Emergency Building. The total construction area is 1592 square meters. The two-channel, doctor-patient diversion includes VIP wards, expert workshops, functional examination rooms, rescue rooms, multi-functional conference rooms, etc.  The VIP ward is 50 to 120 square meters in size. The room contains a ward, a reception room, a dressing room, a bathroom and a dining room. It is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave oven, LCD TV, leather sofa and various furniture.

Diagnosis and treatment in hospital

1. Out-patient medical treatment: Out-patients take an appointment to visit. Currently, there are available appointments for telephone appointments, online appointments, and mobile APP appointments. According to the appointment time, the patient will go to the East Gate of the building (the special entrance of the International Healthcare Department) or the service reception of the hospital out-patient hall. Patients will be guided by the nurse to the 801 clinic of the International Healthcare Department on the 8th floor. The doctor of the International Healthcare Department will be  in charge of the treatment and diagnosis. For patients with complicated conditions or patients with specialist medical needs, the doctors of the expert group will seek consultation from technical experts. Besides, blood collection tests, ultrasound examinations, and electrocardiogram examinations can be completed in the International Healthcare Department. If MRI, CT, endoscopy, etc. are required, the nurse is responsible for making an appointment and accompanying the examination. The results are passed through the hospital information system which will be directly transferred to the International Healthcare Department.
